Certification for protecting biodiversity

February 6th 2015

At the end of 2014, ELSA and MIFROMA were recognised by the Nature & Economy Foundation for their commitment to protecting biodiversity. Specifically, this certification means that support is provided for the biodiversity on over 50% of the green land around our production sites.

Making space for nature!

Based in Montreux, the Nature & Economy Foundation certifies company sites which help protect natural biodiversity. According to Foundation regulations, at least 30% of the land around buildings must be maintained without the use of pesticides or fertilisers. Companies must also encourage native species to grow, avoiding exotic species, and grass must not been mown more than twice a year.

Thanks to this certification, ELSA-Mifroma has taken another step forward in meeting its objectives for sustainability in the medium to long term.
